Motion is a change in an object’s position over time. This change is measured as distance or displacement.

Speed = Distance ÷ Time (no direction, always positive).
Velocity = Displacement ÷ Time (includes direction).
Average speed: Total distance ÷ total time.
Instantaneous speed: Speed at a specific moment.
Example: In a 100m sprint, runners accelerate at the start, run steadily, and often speed up at the end.

Acceleration is the rate of change in velocity over time. It can be:
